Beauty is in the Eye of the Beholder

Yes, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but so is all of reality! Just to prove it: Have you ever noticed that you can manufacture any sort of evidence necessary to justify a feeling or opinion that you have? It goes like this, “Oh, I don’t deserve this good. I’m not worthy of more than I have.” Then - poof, like magic - corresponding evidence shows up all around you as if it were awaiting your discovery. That is the moment when you can see all of those leering thoughts that were waiting your invitation.

Have you ever felt like you didn’t belong in the room or at the table with those you admire, and right then and there - right where you were - evidence to support that thought showed itself? On a personal note, this is very, very true for me. I have lived most of my life feeling like a fraud, like I didn’t belong, never feeling seen, and I have suffered in accordance with my attention. Yikes, I know! Not exactly what you want to hear from the person in charge of a spiritual center, I am sure. But I am not separate from you in needing to do my own work today, tomorrow, and always. As I always say, “There is no done!”

When we entertain thoughts of not-enoughness we find evidence. It is our mind looking for what’s familiar. We find what we are looking for and what we are looking with! This is not new, but it is still worthy of study. I could immediately speak to you about changing your attention, and that would be correct. However, the only way I have risen to the level of self-love that I have, is by taking the time to heal those self-concepts that are living at the level of my subconscious. How do I heal them? I feel them! I honor them! I bless them, because they lead me to my Whole Self. In addition, I use prayer treatment, to practice forgiveness of both self and others, and to remove these nasty self-thoughts where they live at the level of my sub-conscious.

Let me restate this so it is clear: As you become aware of the limiting narrative of your life, before you simply restate your truth to the affirmative (We want to avoid Spiritual Bypass), hesitate long enough to become mindful of what lives within. Then, using prayer treatment, declare your highest truth. After you have really taken care of your thinking and feeling in good order, affirm, affirm, affirm. Declare and claim your truth as you desire it to be before you see the hard evidence. Remember, everything is born twice: First in consciousness, then in form or experience.

Then, as you move along your life path, create a narrative that is filled with self-love, self-confidence, and self-esteem. If a contrary thought creeps in stare it in the eye and say, “NO, not my truth. My truth is that I am a child of the One Beloved One with all of the most glorious aspects and qualities of this One available to me.” Tell a story that lifts you and moves anything in the way, out of the way. Remember you are never at the mercy of anything, not now, not ever!
